Need a Pep Talk?

Hebrews 12:1-2 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,  looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Why do we always feel like giving up? I think it's just natural as a human being and God understood that so he gave us the scriptures that sometimes feels like a coach talking to the team. These verses are a spiritual pep talk to help us keep going as we do life. The world bombards us so much and we need to be constantly reminded that God is bigger than everything we encounter on a daily basis. Studying the scriptures helps to shoot adrenaline into our souls!

When I'm on stage, I'm trying to do one thing: bring people joy. Just like church does. People don't go to church to find trouble, they go there to lose it.   - James Brown

Follow Me

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, Ephesians 2:8

God did not call us to a set of rules but instead to a relationship. God is not interested in what we can do but in how we love Him and how we love others. Do we follow for love or do we follow for another reason?

We are not saved by what we do but by what has been done already on the cross. Salvation is free and given to us freely. Salvation and forgiveness are available because of the cross...

What Are You Saying?

Written 2011: We are accountable for all our words and it can bless our life or curse our lives. That is a pretty powerful statement when you realize how important what you say is in your daily walk. I have heard people say, "it figures ~ always happens to me" and it does because they have said it and now they are living by their words. "Just my luck" is another term I have heard often when something goes wrong and because they have said it, now they are living their own words. Some of these sayings came about when we were children because someone uttered that curse and we believed those words to be true.

Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and think of what could go right.
