Miracle Baby Deena: A Mother’s Story

For with God, nothing is impossible. Luke 1:37

When I was three months pregnant with Deena, our world was turned upside down. My doctor delivered a devastating prognosis: a mysterious infection threatened to take our baby's life. Jimmy and I clung to each other, our tears mingling as we cried out to God. In the silence that followed, we faced an impossible decision. But we chose to trust in the unknown, to believe God's plan was greater than our understanding.

We walked the next six months in faith, shielding our hearts from the uncertainty. No nursery was prepared, no announcements of our situation were made. But God gifted us with an unexplainable peace, a sense that He was our rock, no matter the outcome.

The day of delivery arrived, and the doctor's words still lingered: "stillborn or severely deformed?" But when Deena burst into the world, she shattered all expectations. Perfect, beautiful, and whole. God had supernaturally protected her from the infection that had threatened to consume her.

As we celebrated her arrival, our family and friends rallied around us, showering us with love and gifts. And each year, on her birthday, we remember the miracle that defied the odds, a testament to God's goodness and grace. We walked through the darkest valley, but He was our constant companion, our guiding light. And we know that no matter what lies ahead, He will always be near.

Our daughter is a blessing, a treasure, and a joy - a gift from above!

God’s Road Map for Life

Written 2018:

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart,

                              And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.

God has a plan and purpose for each one of us and wants to direct our lives in every way. We need to seek His will each and every day in order to stay on the right road of life. If not, we will lose our way and it can become very difficult to get back on the right road and will delay us to where He wants us to be......

Lord, forgive me for not going in the right direction and please guide me today so that I will not get lost but instead be able to accomplish what you need for me to do!

The meaning and purpose you find in helping others will enrich and expand your life!

The First Family Feud: Cain and Abel - Bible Study of Genesis Chapter 4

Genesis chapter 4 explores the story of Cain and Abel, their offerings, and the devastating consequences of Cain’s anger and jealousy.

In this chapter we will learn about the family of Adam & Eve.

Verses 1-8: Cain, a farmer and Abel, a shepherd. They both prepared a sacrificial offering to God. Can sacrificed some of his produce and Abel sacrificed the firstborn sheep. God was not pleased with Cains offering. Cain killed Abel.

Verses 9-15: God asked Cain where his brother had gone. Cain replied, am I my brothers keeper? God knew what happened and placed a curse on Cain. The curse was that he would no longer be able to grow anything as a farmer. He instead became a fugitive and afraid that he would be killed for being a murderer but God placed a mark of protection on him.

Verses 16-26: A genealogy of the family Adam & Eve. Cain settled in the land of Nod and had a son named Enoch. Cains great great grandson is Lamech. He married 2 wives and also killed a man. Lamech had three sons: Jabal who worked with livestock. Jubal who played the lyre and pipe. Tubal-Cain who was a forger of bronze and iron. Adam and Eve had another son named Seth. People around this time began to call upon the name of the Lord.

Sin then is the same as the sins we all struggle with today. Disobedience, jealousy, anger, etc. The Bible helps us understand that the human heart has always struggled with disobedience (sin) since the beginning. The Bible also gives us a solution to our sin problem through Jesus Christ who was a descendant of Adam and Eves son, Seth.
